Sometimes we can get ahead of ourselves when we try to move to fast. I know for me when I can see the bigger picture I want to skip everything in between and get right to the point. But isn’t that how we all operate? Why is it so hard for some of us to take it one step at a time?
Many times I have to step back and remind myself that everything can’t be done at once but if I take small steps to my goal eventually I will get there. As I was watching my niece try to take her first steps and learn to walk , I notice that we begin that impatience at a very young age. As she would try to get to the other side of the room she would take two steps then fall down then give up and crawl to get to the other side. As I thought about that isn’t that what we do? if we can’t get there walking we rush to do it the quickest way possible. I guess you can view that as by any means neccessary you strive to get to that goal but in the process you don’t learn a new way to get to where you want to be. Now how did I get all that from my niece learning to walk ?? I have no clue but it just came to me that maybe I should take my plans one step at a time instead of trying to do it all at once. That way I am learning new things and new ways as I go and not overwelming myself either.
Taking one step at a time maybe slow but atleast you aren’t burnt out trying to get there. It allows you to carefully get there and learn along the way how to stand on your own and meet your goals while focusing on one step at a time. Are you taking your goals one step at a time or are you rushing to get it all done?
